Best Disney World Resorts for Your 2024 Vacation

All Value Resorts

A value resort is categorized as the least expensive option for Walt Disney World resorts. All value resorts will have one quick service dining location and a pool and basic recreation amenities. Fortunately, ALL value resorts are a great option in 2024. No major renovation projects will interrupt your magical time!

The value resorts are:

1. All-Star Sports Resort

2. All-Star Movies Resort

3. All-Star Music Resort

4. Pop Century Resort

5. Art of Animation Resort

These resorts will have the smallest rooms on Disney World property. However, if you want to splurge on the room size, both Art of Animation and All-Star Music have Family Suites can sleep up to 6 adults. You can also enjoy the ride on the Skyliner to Epcot and Hollywood Studios from Pop Century and Art of Animation Resorts.

Caribbean Beach & Coronado Springs

Caribbean Beach Resort and Coronado Springs Resort are in the moderate category of Walt Disney World Resorts. At these resorts, you will find a quick service and at least one table service restaurant you can make a reservation for 60 (+10) days in advance. The pools will also feature a water slide. Caribbean Beach Resort even has a splash pad/playground for the little ones.

One Unique Thing for Each Resort:

• Caribbean Beach is the ONLY moderate resort along the Skyliner route. It is also the only resort with a Skyliner station that takes you directly to Epcot and Hollywood Studios.

• Coronado Springs is the ONLY moderate resort to have a club level option. Gran Destino Tower at Coronado Springs has a beautiful view at the club level.

Port Orleans Riverside Resort

Port Orleans Riverside has a charming southern vibe set in the bayou. The theming at this resort is top notch with thorough details. There is so much to offer at this moderate resort. The quick service dining building has themed decor that has that Disney charm. There are resort rooms in the bayou section with some fifth sleeper options. Another section of Port Orleans has princess themed rooms at Magnolia Bend in these beautiful white historic mansion-looking buildings. There is also a boat that will take you to other resorts (Port Orleans French Quarter, Old Key West, and Saratoga Springs) as well as the premier shopping and dining experience at Disney Springs.

Animal Kingdom Lodge

Animal Kingdom Lodge may be off the beaten path, but it has amazing dining experiences (Boma, Sanaa, etc.) and savanna views. Not to mention, it is a short bus ride away to Animal Kingdom. Resort rooms were also renovated just a few years ago. The open lobby is also beautiful and impressive with a similar architectural style to the Wilderness Lodge lobby.

Contemporary Resort

Contemporary Resort is the only resort along the monorail line that isn't affected by renovations or construction. The Contemporary is within walking distance of Magic Kingdom and just a quick monorail ride to Epcot. There are many dining experiences at the Contemporary for all ages including a character meal at Chef Mickey's, a casual dining experience at Steakhouse 71, and a dress-code required California Grill. Not only that, but having access to any dining location via the monorail is a plus!

Wilderness Lodge

Staying at the Wilderness Lodge brings a calm and relaxing vibe. The lobby is simply breathtaking, and the creek starts in the lobby and trickles all the way outside to the pool area. The pool includes a waterslide and a splash pad/playground for the smaller Disney goers. There is also a geyser that frequently erupts just beyond the pool area.

Yacht & Beach Club Resorts

Yacht & Beach Club Resorts are two resorts attached to each other with two different ocean vibes. Situated along Crescent Lake, these two resorts are in a fantastic location. Beach Club is located right next to Epcot, so it is only a short walk to the International Gateway entrance and the Epcot Skyliner Station that will take you to the Hollywood Studios entrance and the resorts along the Skyliner route. There is also an option to take the boat to either Epcot or Hollywood Studios as well as the Boardwalk and Swan & Dolphin hotels.

Yacht & Beach Club also is home to one of the only pools that is described as a mini water park on Disney World property. Stormalong Bay boasts a sandy bottom pool, lazy river, and a shipwreck pool and waterslide. These resorts also are home to a variety of restaurants including character breakfast and seafood buffet Cape May Cafe, fine dining experiences such as Yachtsman Steakhouse, and the highly sought after Beaches and Cream.

Renting Points from Disney Vacation Club

I could write several more articles about renting Disney Vacation Club points. If saving money and staying deluxe is important, the following would be the best for a 2024 Disney World Vacation:

1. Jambo House & Kidani Village at Animal Kingdom Lodge

2. Beach Club Villas

3. Boulder Ridge and Copper Creek Villas at Wilderness Lodge

5. Riviera Resort

All of these resorts are not currently affected by any refurbishment projects this year. Riviera is a brand new hotel building opening to the public in December 2019. The more recently renovated rooms (along with Riviera) have murphy beds that come down from the wall in lieu of the former sofa bed. These beds give guests more room and are more comfortable for sleeping. The DVC resorts that were recently renovated with the murphy beds are Beach Club Villas, Boulder Ridge Villas, and Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa.

When you rent Disney Vacation Club (DVC) points, visitors get the same benefits as one who is staying at a deluxe resort. Guests can make dining reservations 60 (+10) days in advance, enjoy early entry into the theme parks ever morning, and also have the option of attending Extended Evening Hours on select nights.

Safely acquiring a DVC room through renting points is best done using a reliable company that acts a mediator. These companies will have clients that offer their DVC points to be rented out or they have an already booked reservation with set dates. If there is availability for the resort and dates, the company will have both parties sign a contract to keep both sides accountable so no one loses out on any money. Sites that I have personally used and have been very happy with are DVC Rental Store and DVC Advantages.

Where Will You Stay?

If you have decided to stay at an on-site Walt Disney World Resort, you have plenty of options to choose from this list. Finding the right resort for your party is the most important piece to having a magical Disney World vacation.

Things to consider:

1. The size of your party (couples, families, intergenerational, school, etc.)

2. The ages of your party (small children, teenagers, older adults, etc.)

3. Does close proximity to the parks have priority?

4. Does having dining options matter to you?

5. Does multiple transportation options make a difference?

6. Does the type of pool have importance to your vacation?
